Marcus Diawara is a Vienna-based pianist, composer, teacher and producer whose music moves between jazz, hip-hop, LoFi, soul, and electronic music.

Born in 1995 to an Austrian mother and a Malian father, Diawara began playing piano at the age of five. His musical education took him from Yamaha Music School to the Prayner Conservatory and to JAM MUSIC LAB University, where he graduated with distinction in Jazz and Popular Music.

Over the years, Diawara has worked across a wide range of musical projects. As a co-founder and composer of the LoFi hip-hop project Jikuru, alongside Austrian DJ and producer DJ Buzz (Waxolutionists), he helped shape a catalogue of 122 released tracks, combining atmospheric production, jazz harmony, and beat-driven arrangements.

 

The project released music through Universal Music and reached an international audience. In 2026, Diawara stepped away from Jikuru to focus on his own artistic direction.

Today, his main focus is DIAWR, his solo project as a pianist and producer. Drawing from jazz, Neo-Soul, hip-hop, LoFi, and electronic production, DIAWR combines expressive piano playing with warm grooves, synthesizers, and organic textures, creating a personal sound that moves naturally between instrumental music and beat-driven production.

Alongside DIAWR, Diawara has performed with projects including the Jazztice Trio and Marcus Moh & One World Band, the reggae formation led by his father, whose music combines reggae with socially conscious songwriting.
